Liberec ready to welcome EVC 2011 participants
48 championship competitions of 8 age categories will be played on 98 tables in 4 competitions halls from Monday, June 20 with the Final day of Saturday, June 25.

Plenty of table tennis stars and sport celebrities will take part in the Championships. World Champion in doubles from 1989, Steffan Fetzner of Germany will be the hotest star of Men's 40-49 category while Valentina Popova of Slovakia, holder of 9 European Titles is the most shining star among women players.
There are another known actors, businessman and sport celebrities among participants: Antonin Panenka (63), the man who introduced this famous stunt on the international field (as the deciding penalty at the 1976 Football European Championships Final: Czechoslovakia-Germany) has confirmed his participation in 2011 European Table Tennis Chamionships long time ago.
The oldest active player, Alexandr Kaptarenko of Russia (* 27.1.1912) is 99,5 years (!) old while Inge-Brigitte Herrman (*9.4.1921, Germany) with her almost 90 will be the oldest playing women player.
The Official Opening Ceremony with the Flag Parade will open the Championships on Sunday, June 19 at 7:00 p.m.
